    Dermaplaning and Skin Needling are effective treatments on their own, but when combined, they can yield optimal results. Dermaplaning is a safe and simple skin rejuvenation procedure designed to exfoliate the epidermis and remove facial peach fuzz. This treatment leaves the skin smoother and healthier, allowing skincare products to penetrate more deeply into the skin.

    Skin Needling, also known as Microneedling or Collagen Induction Therapy, simulates the effects of fractional laser treatments by creating micro-punctures in the skin. This controlled wound-healing response stimulates collagen production in the deeper skin layers, resulting in a smoother and more youthful appearance. The micro-punctures create a controlled injury beneath the skin's surface, triggering collagen production. As a result, the skin plumps and thickens. Skin Needling aims to improve mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, rough skin texture, reduce pore size, and tighten lax skin.

Note: Skin Needling treatments are best performed between 2-8 weeks apart depending on the skin condition being treated.

A little more information about Skin Needling

At Bloom, we use the Exceed medical grade dermal-needling device, which has 6 surgical grade stainless steel (single-use) needles that gently glide over the skin creating microscopic, controlled-injuries called channels or micro-traumas. The controlled injury triggers your body’s natural healing process, producing new collagen and elastin and forming new capillaries - This results in new cell growth and healthy skin function. We use the Exceed needling device as it’s adjustable needle depth settings (From 0.1mm to a maximum depth of 2mm) allows us to completely customise each client treatment depending on the skin texture, concerns and area being treated. Complete depth control means we can treat each area individually, from heavy dermal scarring, right through to delicate areas like eyelids and lips.

Skin needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is scientifically proven to target and activate the fibroblast cells that lie in the deeper layers of your skin. These cells are responsible for producing collagen and elastin.

  • Your skin will have a flushed, slightly red appearance immediately following the treatment. This is expected and is a great indication of a successful treatment. The red flush will fade to a pink blush within 12-24 hours and then continue to fade over the following day.
